Who this covers
The policy covers you if you browse the site, if you sign up, or if you call the API with a key. Using the site or the service means you have seen this notice. If you disagree with how we handle data, please stop using HolidayDB.
What we collect
Accounts and billing. Name, email, plan choice, and enough billing detail for Stripe to charge you. We never store full card numbers; Stripe holds the sensitive parts.
API traffic. We log what you would expect for an API product: rough client IP, which key hit which route, timestamps, status codes, and volume so we can meter plans, debug outages, and spot abuse.
Cookies. Covered in the cookie policy. We do not use cookies to run ads across the web or to sell profiles.
Why we use it
Running the product, billing, security, support, and legal compliance. We do not sell your personal information as a product line.
Where data lives
Infrastructure and subprocessors may sit in the US or elsewhere. We pick vendors we trust for their role (payments, hosting, email). You can ask who we use for a given function and we will answer in plain language where we can.
How long we keep things
Billing and account records stick around while the account is open, then up to about five years where the law expects us to keep invoices and similar records.
API-style logs for metering and security are usually kept for roughly six months in rolling storage, not forever. Windows can shift when we change backends; ask if you need a precise figure for a dispute.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, fix, export, or delete personal data. Send a request through the contact form. We will confirm you control the account when needed. If the law gives us a deadline, we try to hit it; otherwise we aim for about thirty days.
Security
HTTPS in the browser, TLS to the API, keys instead of passwords for API access, least-privilege access on our side. No online service is perfectly safe; we fix issues when we find them.
When this text changes
We edit this page when our practices or the law change. The date at the top is the honest edit date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version unless the law in your area says otherwise.
