Working hours by country and year

These guides provide yearly working-hours estimates for each supported country. The estimate is based on working days (weekends and national public holidays excluded) and an 8-hour workday assumption.

Totals vary by country and year because public holidays differ. Teams use these pages for payroll, reporting, staffing planning, and capacity forecasting across multiple countries.

Working hours depend on business-day counts and workweek assumptions. Public holidays vary, holiday calendars change year to year, and some regions use non–Monday–Friday schedules.

For example:

• some countries have more public holidays than others
• some regions use Sunday–Thursday schedules
• regional holidays can affect yearly operational capacity

These differences show up in payroll totals, staffing capacity, HR planning, delivery/SLA planning, and international operations.

Each country/year page computes working days with HolidayDB’s business-day logic, then multiplies by an 8-hour workday assumption.

• multiplied by workday duration (8 hours)
• equals yearly working hours
